Teen Vogue Suggests Wearing Pajamas To Prom
Such as this $178 Aiko Pajama top and matching $240 pants. Costs about as much as a nice prom dress, anyway!
Jessica Alba has worn PJs on the red carpet, after all.

turtlefeed a year agoI sat on this all weekend, but this is a remarkably lazy post. I’m going to stop clicking through on SHIFT stuff if I can learn all I need to know from the headline and description. Also, I’m very much in the “who cares” camp here. Have you looked at the demographics for BuzzFeed? Most of us are beyond the whole caring about prom thing. Putting aside the fact that wearing pajamas in public is a dubious fashion trend, SHIFT posts have a very classist element to them that disturbs me. Not all women have $400+ dollars to blow on clothing. Given the state of the economy, you might want to try for some moderately realistic posts. But my suspicion is that SHIFT editors have a singular definition of woman and they’re not willing to expand beyond that. Which is a shame, because we’re like what, two, three days in? I’m already bored.

chaz atlas a year agoSweatpants in public = fine. PJ bottoms in public = trash. If you don’t know the difference then you should have been held back a few grades.

chaz atlas a year agoAnyone who wears PJ’s outside of the home, hotel, i.e. appropriate places looks like trash. It’s not cute, it’s not cool, it’s - trash.

kea718 a year agoI admit, I wear pajamas to CVS or 7-11 (the only 2 stores open late night in my neighborhood), but only late at night. My pjs aren’t super obnoxious either, a regular t-shirt and pj pants. If it’s like 10:30/11pm or later and I’m in my pj’s at home and need to get something super quick I won’t bother changing. The store’s like 2 mins away and i know I’ll only be in there for a minute. What’s the point? I live in a small community. But that’s as far as my pj wearing in public goes.

SitaSky a year agoPajamas to prom? Really? I can’t stand seeing anyone out and about in their pj’s . If you are leaving your home you should wear actual clothes. I am a huge pj lover too, I own an insane amount of them but I would never wear them like regular clothes. Have we gotten so complacent with the concept of comfort that we can’t be bothered to wear jeans or a ballgown anymore? This trend better end right now and Jessica Alba looked like an idiot.
Sorry to go off but I’ve been noticing a lot of loungewear around when I go shopping or run errands and it just looks lazy and sloppy. I don’t care how much it costs, it’s just wrong. -
