While comparing herself to Shakespeare is an eye-roller, I do think that it’s classist to make fun of people for their language skills. She would have done better to point out that many English phrases developed in a kind of broken-telephone like way. Example: “Spittin’ image” comes from “spirit and image.” I’d rather criticize Palin on substance (or her lack thereof).
