    Beatrice Capra is this year's Melanie Oudin! (This is good, because Melanie's already crapped out of the Open.) UPDATE: Beatrice lost to Sharapova. :/ Go Venus!

    Here's what you need to know:

    Beatrice (who goes by Traci) is 18, and this US Open is her first senior Grand Slam tournament. She's ranked 371st in the world.

    She beat 18-seeded Aravane Rezai 7-5, 2-6, 6-3 in the second round and will maybe face Sharapova in the third.

    She's super cute and bubbly (a la Oudin), as you can see here:



    Here is a cute blog post she wrote from this year's French Open (she was playing in the Junior division).
