Why is this interesting? A store hires you based on looks? Shocker!! What do you think Hooters has been doing for years. Or the shirtless dudes at Abercrombie. Hell, I've applied for jobs before and not been hired based on how I look. Did I give a shit? NO! I understand I have full sleeve tattoos and Pottery Barn for Kids might not be down with that. My ex use to work for AA. Yes she was a hipster twat. But she use to tell me they didn't really hire people based on beauty or good looks. It's about personal style and having good taste in fashion. That's another reason why they want photos. When you work there, you have to wear only AA clothing. So you're pretty much a walking mannequin. They want you to be able to come in and mix and match different items they have and wear something new every day. That way the customers look at you and say “HEY! That's a cool outfit! I want that!” Nowhere does it mention who NOT to hire. It doesn't say please refrain from hiring fatties, redheads, and midgets. So there's no need to be offended. I'm assuming this memo is not just for store employees, but model scouts as well. Which seems to make sense if they want full body shots, without accessories etc. Jesus, where is the “quit being a pussy about everything” button?
