It is predictable and telling, but still stupid and tired and disingenuous enough to gag over, that ANYONE with ANY level of credibility is not dismissing this issue out of hand. Seriously—discussing whether Obama is a citizen and therefore qualified to be president is a conversation for total conspiracy nuts, lunatic fringe freaks, and a few unfortunate paranoid schizophrenics. There are plenty of legitimate issues to disagree on, and I can't help but feel that if the extreme right (which at this point pretty much seems to BE the GOP—see any of the tiny posse of BuzzFeed neocons) was even a tiny bit unified and organized, they'd be kicking these nutjobs to the curb so that they could move on to substantive arguments. Instead, even supposedly “moderate” Republicans are going out of their way to pay obeisance to these nutters and their crazy ideas. C'mon people—to be so scared of these loons that you pay attention to them is just downright pitiful. I liked it a lot better when the worst members of both parties were garden-variety political scumbags acting on behalf of lobbyists out of greed.

I agree with Arizona Republican representative Trent Frank. I am glad that there are still congressmen in Washington who support and stand up for the America that I believe in.  Good for you Arizona for electing such a fine upstanding representative.

i don't appreciate this type of journalism… leave it to the investigating committee… these senators are not investigative reporters… i think that even if they have personal doubts, they shouldn't state them… and the “journalist” should badger… just ask and if they don't want to answer, fine… leave them be… y're just causing grief and y'r a pompous asshole

A reporter shouldn't turn into an obsequious mess when he's given a straight answer to a simple question. He shouldn't have included everything that last Congressman said. Echoing the extremists that support his his party, he claims Obama is a socialist which is slanderous and just as incendiary as claiming he is not a U.S. citizen. Freedom of speech doesn't include freedom to lie or slander.

All Barry has to do to shut this fringe up is produce a “real live” original birth certificate—not a duplicate as has been the case up to this point. It's not rocket science. Just make it publicly available and be done with it.
