ACTUALLY, America does not think they’re plus-sized, the FASHION INDUSTRY DOES, and Plus-sized is NOT A BAD WORD.  Get over yourselves, and stop bitching. Do you really want designers to build one dress that’s supposed to universally flatter all body types? Too fucking bad, it’s not possible. Different body types have to be called SOMETHING, so just deal with it.
