Honestly, who didn't want to learn on a cruise ship that took you to the different countries you were learning about? That show ruined high school forever, too many high expectations. And of course, Ryan Gosling as a goofy, zany, nerdy teen is always fun to watch.

3. Big Wolf On Campus

Kind of Canada's answer to Buffy The Vampire Slayer. After being bit by a werewolf, series protagonist Tommy uses his supernatural powers to fight zombies and vampires and ghosts galore. Fun times in the town of Pleasantville.

4. The Worst Witch

OK so this is sort of cheating because it's a British TV show but not really because Canada is listed as one of the countries of origin. But basically, it was about an all-girls Magic School actually called Cackles Academy where Mildred Hubble is always getting in trouble. I mean, what's not to love?!

5. Strange Days At Blake Holsey High

Five students and their favourite teacher form a Science Club to investigate the mysterious phenomena happening at their southern Ontario boarding school. Lots of intrigue and adventure with a splash of romance and 'normal' teen angst. *sigh* if only every school had a wormhole on school grounds.

6. The Adventures of Shirley Holmes

The Adventures of Shirley Holmes followed Shirley, the great-grandniece of Sherlock Holmes as she investigated mysteries and crimes in the fictional Canadian town of Redington. Molly Hardy was The Absolute Worst.

7. The Hit List

The Hit List was a music video show where kids could vote for their favourite songs/videos, where groups like The Backstreet Boys would perform, the countdowns would go late into the night and it was always a dream to phone in and vote. le sigh.

8. ReBoot

Right, gotta be honest, never got into ReBoot and frankly, still don't know what it's entirely about but I do know that practically everyone was into it and so it kind of had to make the list and I also know that there'll be a "reboot" of ReBoot or at least there's discussion about it ... so I'll just leave you with a generic description of the show:

Teen angst galore. Ready or Not was about two best friends who grew up in two different households --- Amanda's liberal upbringing to Busy's conservative one --- and how they both navigated puberty. The show covered body image to drinking to sexual awakening to death.
