Mounds of schoolwork loom large on the horizon. But have no fear! A new app called Socratic, which aims to help students do their homework, is here to the rescue.

I downloaded it to check it out myself, and it's basically the best thing ever.

When you launch the app, it opens to your phone camera, and then you take a photo of the question you're looking to solve.

The best part, though, is that it gives you a thorough explanation for the solution. Yay, learning!

It gave me a step-by-step breakdown for the math equation I'd entered — and the option to click on each step to find out the whys and hows.

It even works for history and science questions.
