You are interested in the relationships between humans and the natural environment. You want to know how the flows and networks work together. You are here to identify and tackle the offset of systems that was induced by human behavior.You are interested how these systems differ from place to place and how they absorb a disturbance. You are currently working to develop a plan to tackle an invasive species problem at the local state park. Your job is to map the species distribution and to develop the best plan for extraction.

Environmental Geographer

You are interested in the boundaries, divisions, and possessions of countries. You like to understand the underlying geographic causes of war and conflict. You like to see how the distribution of power across the globe is due to geographic placement. You are currently working on a research project about the Syrian conflict and you are identifying key players and geographic causes.

Political Geographer

You are interested in the expansion of societies, their infrastructure and how it will affect the natural world around us. The relationships between population density and city growth are what drive your work. You like to see settlement patterns and how they affected the growth of city. You are currently working on a five year city expansion plan in order to deal with the current population boom.

Urban Geographer

You are interested in the geography of disease. Your goal is to pin-point the source of the disease and spatial represent its spread across a population. You like to work towards a fast reaction towards outbreaks of disease and the rapid containment before it continues to spread. Your current work is based on Malaria and how it spreads, how one can lower their risk of contraction and the environmental and geographical causes of the disease.

Medical Geographer

You are interested in spatial analysis, how you can use mapping technology to visualize relationships and conveying information in a well formatted and easy to understand map. You love your ArcGIS and Python programs and believe in data sharing. You are currently working with the county to develop ArcGIS and Python maps and analysis in order to better serve the community.
