7 Ways To Safely Play Pokémon Go

After the release of Pokémon Go in the United States in July, fans both young and old rushed to streets to catch their favorite Pokémon characters. But with such an interactive, real world game comes RESPONSIBILITY. While the number of Pokémon Go players is rising exponentially every day, more and more users are at risk. Incidents around the world are being reported, caused by distractions and unawareness of users. In order to prevent crashes, injuries and death, we would like to share 7 Ways to Play Pokémon Go Safely!

1)When searching for Pokémon at night, be visible by wearing brightly colored clothes and reflective material that makes you stand out.

2)While Pokémon hunting at night, bring a flashlight or have glow sticks that you can wear for people to see you. You never know what you could encounter if you cannot see what you are doing.

3)Catch Pokémon with some friends. It is safer when you are walking with a group in a common area, instead of driving around and looking for Pokémon on the roads.

4)Stay off your phone and pay attention to the road, even if a Pokémon evades you. Pay attention to your surroundings at all times. NOTE: Staying off your phone decreases your chances of crashing!

5)The online game was created so people could go out, have some fun catching Pokémon with friends, and so players could get some exercise. Take advantage of this opportunity to create a whole new regime for your exercise routine! Evolve yourself by exercising with Pokémon Go!

6)When crossing the street to get Pokémon always use the crosswalk. While it might be tempting to cross mid-block, this is where most injuries occur. Use traffic signals and crosswalks as much as possible. Be especially careful at intersections where drivers might not see you.

7)Never drive a car or ride a bike when catching Pokémon, and discourage others around you from doing so. When others are in the car and you are driving, focus on the road and make it known to the passengers that focusing is essential in order to have safe travels.
