How does your parenting stack up?
Steve Sobie is an outreach scientist and college professor in Oregon. He is also the proud father of two beautiful daughters, Margaret and Josephine. Over the last 15 years, Steve has spent countless hours preparing and presenting scientific data, lecturing students, and training coworkers on effective communication. He has spent years filming, producing, and narrating videos for the USGS. Whether working with the public to assuage fears concerning earthquakes, flooding, and landslides, or lecturing his students on the importance of water as a resource, Steve has developed a clear, concise, and sometimes irreverent method of speaking. Once considered shy and reserved, he has worked himself into a respected speaker amongst his peers and now offers his unique insight into how parenthood has improved his public speaking.
