24 – If you're visiting the Great Wall, go to China for the express *purpose* of seeing the Wall. You'll never get anything resembling a real feel for it on any mere day trip from Beijing (which has more than ample sights worth seeing all by itself).
26 – Hawai'i one of my own biggest…Â
17 – If you're renting an Airbnb in Reykjavik ... well, you're doing it wrong. (Meaning the country.) If you *really* wanna see Iceland the correct way, plan on doing a two-week self-drive tour along the Ring Road that encircles the entire island. (And you can find inexpensive, all-inclusive…Â
10 – Agreed that the "real" Miami isn't located in Miami Beach – which btw is an entirely separate city than Miami, which most people don't know – but disagreed that the gentrified likes of Coral Gables & downtown constitute it (or areas like the Design District/Wynwood, for that…Â
4 – Definitely agreed about traveling (well) beyond the Quarter, but would also recommend Mid-City & the Marigny (esp. the latter if you're staying in or near the Quarter - better music scene & way less touristy).
6 – Many cities that were part of the Spanish Empire at some point…Â
9 – Some, but certainly not *all*, Airbnbs have extended-stay discounts – which I say as a longtime host on the platform. They've also dwindled (and in some cases disappeared) over the past six months as travel's rebounded.
14 – The Chase Sapphire Reserve card costs $550/year! Curious…Â
4 – Curious that the author mentions flying on easyJet but doesn't point out that carry-on bags can cost *more* than checked bags, plus at least in Europe or the UK have extreme size constraints (incl. no more than 20kg of weight for a roller bag).
6 – Most airport hotels discontinued…Â
No offense, but is there some reason you can't use travel-sized bottles? You can find empty ones at most drugstores, and fill them with whatever shampoo, hair product, etc. you'll need, assuming they can fit into a Ziploc bag. Also, quite a few people do check bags because they don't…Â
I fly over 100,000 miles a year (2020 excepted for obvious reasons) and have never encountered an airline that *literally* disallows carry-ons. Or did you mean to say disallows *free* carry-ons? If so, this is true, but OTOH I'd still prefer to pay whatever for a carry-on versus waiting…Â
I was honestly surprised to see ANYONE who flies on 20+ flights/year not signing up for it. Even my mom has TSA Pre, and she flies maybe a third that much! (Like me, she hates lines / delays.)
