Unite4:Good Is Paying People $100 To Be Kind

Be kind, win money.

CHICAGO — In a world inundated with negative news, it's no surprise that people are craving positivity in their lives. Amidst reports of wars, natural disasters, murders, and deteriorating race relations, both in the United States and abroad, the positive stories that are highlighted on the news and Internet are a breath of fresh air and a beacon of hope to many.

Just a few weeks ago a simple act of kindness shared on Facebook went viral, garnering more than 2 million likes and close to 300,000 shares in just a matter of days.

One company has picked up on people's desire for positivity and is out to spread hope by bringing more of of these stories to the forefront of society.

Unite4:Good, a new company based in Lincolnshire, Ill., is creating a global platform dedicated to inspire, innovate, and drive grassroots kindness. The company's goal is to "build a community where we lay the foundation to empower individuals to perform acts of kindness as part of their day-to-day lives."

In October 2015, U4G will launch its platform dedicated to providing positive content and opportunities to make a difference a show that #kindnesscounts.

In preparation of the company's October launch, U4G says that it wants to pay people for their kindness.

You read that right.

The company has launched its #WhereKindnessCounts contest to reward people for their acts of kindness. According to the company's contest page, participants must do the following to enter:

1. Follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to get ideas.

2. Take a video, snap a photo, or write a story about one of the following:

a. Performing an Act of Kindness

b. Expressing Gratitude

c. Performing an Act of Service

d. Doing Something to Take Care of Your Community

3. Submit your content to us via our contest page.

Each week U4G will award four (4) winners with $100, which they can "choose to keep in full, donate in part to the charity of their choice, or use to perform another act of kindness." And for those of you who want to be social media famous, the company will also be highlighting participant's content on its website and social media channels.

According to U4G, this is one of many upcoming campaigns that will incentive people to take up the habit of kindness in their daily lives.

The contest will run for the entire month of August.
