"Hows" And "Whys" Of DNA Testing
Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) is a substance in all living things that determines their development, performance and growth. It is composed of a set of DNA molecules that consist of Carbon sugar (deoxyribose), phosphate molecule and nitrogenous bases. These bases are Adenine (A), Thymine (T), Cytosine(C) and Guanine (G). These 6 molecules form the DNA structure which looks like strands twisting around one another that look like a ladder that is twisted. The DNA structure is referred to as a nucleotide and it is formed from the combination of a sugar molecule, a phosphate molecule, and one of the nitrogen bases.
