Joe Jonas Revealed So Much During His Reddit AMA

Flat irons, "half chubs," and the story of how the Jonas Brothers ~actually~ broke up.

Posted on

First of all, the AMA began like this:

BRAVO. And then he went IN.

1. He dismissed accusations of his "drug addiction" being the catalyst for the Jonas Brothers break-up.

"On the questions about the drug addition. That was all false. That probably would have made me look really cool, but unfortunately that wasn't real."

2. And then gave us the truth about how the Jonas Brothers actually broke up.

"When it happened, we were focusing on going on another tour and we had plans to hit the road and do what we had been doing for a while. Nick brought it to the table that he wanted to focus on different things, like acting and doing music on his own. At first, it was really shocking to me because it was kind of all I had known was the Jonas Brothers, forever. So, I was pretty mad and confused because, I was like, I've been putting so much time and effort into this for so long and now I just have to stop and figure out what's next. And maybe I was a little envious of Nick because I knew that he already had kind of a leg up and had plans to work on music already and he was creating and producing. So, I was probably mad at him, too. I remember kind of losing it a little bit and I didn't speak to anybody. I closed myself off and we cancelled the tour and didn't really know what was going on. We were honestly trying to figure out if it was the right decision to call it off or do a final tour or final goodbye, but I think, for all of us, we did it for ten years and it was a lot of time doing one thing."

3. He "loved" his portrayal on South Park.

"I loved it. When it first came out I was so pumped. I know that Nick was really kind of not into watching it, but I thought it was the funniest thing at the time and it's kind of a compliment because obviously if you go to a comedy show and they pick you out and make fun of you, you can't heckle back, you gotta just take it and enjoy it, and for me I've always been a fan and I knew that was kind of a wow we made it moment, and also they were kind of attacking Disney more than me, so I didn't really feel threatened. Now I watch it back and laugh and Mickey kicked my ass so I won the episode by being beat up by Mickey Mouse."

4. Even though his relationship with Disney wasn't quite as portrayed on the show, he *did* get in trouble due to a Mickey-related incident one time.

"I once got in trouble at Disney World cause I took a picture of Mickey Mouse sitting down, and I had flashes like my life was gonna end of Mickey Mouse just like the cartoon in South Park beating the crap out of me just like the viral video of it actually happening in real life."

5. When he saw Tyler The Creator's Camp Rock shout out, he was flattered at first.

"Oh my god. My dance moves in Camp Rock were so terrible. I thought I was killing the game, too. Actually, Tyler The Creator posted it one day and I was like, "Oh, cool! Tyler thinks my dance moves are sick!" and I realized he was just totally calling me out for being a total dickhead and the way I danced, but respectfully."

6. And yes, he cringes at his Camp Rock days.

"I think my flat iron hair and my squeaky voice are a little embarrassing. Also, I watch it now and realize it was so many years ago, it is really bad quality. It just reminds me of how much older I am now. I'm 27.

1-10 rating of how embarrassing Camp Rock is to me now, 10 being the most and 1 being the least, I'm going to give it a solid 8. When I see old merchandise from Camp Rock days or somebody is like, "Oh my god, Camp Rock is my jam", I really have a hard time believing them."

7. He, too, loves the "Lonely Kevin" meme.

Instagram: @kevinjonas

"I remember when that photo came out. It's actually a really funny story because we were legit late for something and Kevin was waiting on the corner. Nick and I were both together and we were heading to meet up with Kevin and he was just waiting on the corner looking at his phone, and now that it's like a part of the whole meme family. I'm really proud. I think at first Kevin was like dammit, did I really just become a meme, but now that Kevin is quite the internet savvy guy I think he appreciates it a lot. I also use it constantly. I've Tweeted it and Instagramed it a couple of times, so I definitely support Kevin memes."

8. He admitted to having a "half chub" while filming DNCE's latest music video.

"Thank you very much about saying it's tastefully sexy. There was definitely some half chubbing going on during the video. I wouldn't say a full blown boner, but I would say a haflie. I mean it's kind of hard not to in that situation especially when you're trying to be intimate, and also they put us in an elevator, me and Charlotte McKinney who I'm sure Reddit is very familiar with. They put her in an elevator with me and then they had kind of a hidden camera filming this whole time, and I had a great time doing the video."

9. He has no idea how fans figure out where he'll be at all times, including airports.

NBC / teendotcom.tumblr.com

"It depends, I think sometimes it's flattering. I think it's nice to be able to see fans, especially ones that are from different countries that we've never been up to and they show their support. Other times it's a little creepy because they’re at places before we get there and I'm wondering how they figure that out. Did they tip somebody off? Does their aunt work for Delta. Let me know, I'm curious."

10. He doesn't hate it when you call him "daddy."

"I just hope their actual father isn't reading their Twitter accounts. But I take it as a compliment...if you're old enough to say that. I think you should at least be 18 to be able to say daddy to someone."

11. When asked about his hair choices, Joe revealed he was inspired by Tokio Hotel.

"I had really long hair at one point and I don't know why, but I wanted to have the hair like this guy from Tokio Hotel. It's a German Pop-Rock band and he has this beautiful anime style hair. For some reason, I decided to do my hair just like him, so it would take quite a while. He kind of looks like a cat, too. Props to that guy for taking that much time."

12. Then Joe proved himself to be the most DGAF Jonas Brother by answering some of Reddit's weirder questions, like this one about his brother Nick's nipples.

Instagram: @nickjonas

"Nick's nipples are not as big as they may appear. It did take multiple surgeries to get them down to a normal size. I think it was like 30-40 surgeries to just get them to a little quarter shape."

13. He shockingly answered the question "who did you lose your virginity to?"

"I lost my virginity to this girl named Ashley. You can probably just Google it. It's pretty easy to figure out. I dated a girl named Ashley, so just Google it to figure out which Ashley that is. It's quite the great story because I didn't have any condoms, so I went to our drummer, Jack's room, who was my roommate at the time and I demolished his room looking for them. Found them underneath his underwear drawer. When he came home, he thought somebody broke into his room because his whole room was demolished because I was in dire need. Needed to happen then and now. Safety first, kids."

14. And he even ~went there~ and answered this truly outrageous question: "Is it true that you're the Jonas Bro thats hangin' the most meat in his skinny jeans?"

Mike Coppola / Getty Images

"I like to think so. Although, it's not often that I'm in a locker room or shower with my brothers, so I couldn't really tell you. But, I'd like the Internet to believe that I'm still killin' it."
