These Are My Top 5 Halloween Costumes I Have Ever Worn

I have worn some pretty weird, pretty wacky, and pretty cool Halloween costumes throughout the years. Read my post to see what my favorites have been.

Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays. I’ve always thought it was fun to dress up as something else for a day, not to mention all the candy I’d get every year.

To celebrate Halloween this year, here is a list of my favorite Halloween costumes I have ever worn!

Maybe you’ll even get some ideas.. 😉

5. Minecraft

As any 10-year-old in 2012 would do, I dressed up as Steve from Minecraft. The costume was simple, as the “head” I had to wear was just a cardboard box.

I also had a foam Minecraft sword. This helped me get more into the costume because now I could pretend I was trick or treating while fighting zombies and creepers. ⚔️

I put this one last on the list because I feel like it was a cheap costume that pretty much everyone was doing at the time.

Overall, this was a pretty good costume.

My friends sure thought I was cool!

4. Michael Myers

Michael Myers is an iconic Halloween character and costume. I’ve had a Michael Myers mask for as long as I can remember, and I have worn it for more than one Halloween. 🔪

I am putting it as number four on my list because I feel like it is a bit cliche, and I only ever had the mask, not the full jumpsuit.

It was still a costume I was proud to wear, as I purchased a replica of the mask worn in Halloween II.

3. Zombie

Compared to the Minecraft costume, you would think I was a little bit older when I decided to dress up as a zombie for Halloween.

Well, you thought wrong 😆

One of my favorite parts about this costume is that I was only in kindergarten when I decided to be a zombie. Looking at the picture, you can tell that the other kids’ costumes were a bit more…uh...“innocent” looking than mine.

But you have to admit, I was a pretty good-looking zombie. 🧟

2. Austin Powers and Felicity Shagwell

My girlfriend and I love the Austin Powers movies, so it was a pretty easy choice to dress up as our favorite characters for Halloween.

I bought my suit from a costume store, but if you are looking to be Austin Powers for Halloween, here is everything you would need:

- Blue velvet suit

- White dress shirt

- Colonial lace jabot cuffs set

- Short wig (if you don’t have the right hair)

- Oversize black glasses

- Brown Chelsea boot

Unfortunately, I did not have brown Chelsea boots, so I wore some dress shoes I had. My girlfriend had glasses that looked like Austin Powers’, so I wore those.

Whether our costumes were store-bought or not, I think they turned out shagadelic, baby!

1. Steve and Robin From Stranger Things

Unless you’re living under a rock, I’m sure you’ve heard of Stranger Things. On July 4th of 2019, Stranger Things 3 came out, and an iconic Halloween costume was born. 🎆

If you don’t know, Stranger Things 3 has Steve working at an ice cream shop in the mall called “Scoops Ahoy” (a reference to Chips Ahoy cookies). Because of this, he wears a cheesy uniform that is now a classic Halloween costume. 🍨

I was very excited about this costume and wanted it to be perfect, so I went ahead and bought a replica costume from Cossky.

This is by far my favorite Halloween costume because of how accurate and simple my costume was. My sister even said, “You look just like Steve!”

My sister dressed up as Eleven, and her friend dressed up as Dustin. It was cool to see so many Stranger Things characters together!

This was also around the time I met my girlfriend, so I asked her to dress up as Robin to match me. We ended up winning the duo Halloween costume contest at our job, and our prize was a pizza party! 🍕

I think these costumes turned out (as Eleven would say) bitchin'!

It was difficult to rank my Halloween costumes because I love them all. But I think I did a pretty good job putting them in order.
