    Women In Basketball

    Basketball was created in 1891 by Dr. James Naismith, a physical education professor and instructor at the YMCA in Springfield, Massachusetts, known today as Springfield College. At that time, basketball was played using a soccer ball—with nine players—and shot into peach baskets.
