1. LACMA

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art is a fantastic art museum located on Wilshire Blvd in the heart of Los Angeles. Now you might be thinking "museums are super touristy" but noooooo you're wrong. Featuring exhibits ranging from Tim Burton's personal drawings, modern sculptures to classical oil paintings this museum is more of an ever-evolving gallery. The building is frequently surrounded by food trucks and is also adjacent to a beautiful park perfectly suited for dogs and picnics.

2. Restoration Hardware Rooftop- Melrose

Probably one of the best secret spots in all of LA, the Restoration Hardware on Melrose features an open air roof lounge offering one of the best views of Hollywood you can find. You can lounge in one of their cabanas, relax on a couch, or sit at one of long tables and take advantage of free Wifi.

3. Melrose Trading Post

Nothing screams LA more than a massive fair featuring a variety of clothing, jewelry, knick-nacks and more. One of the most notable and massive outdoor market is the Melrose Trading Post located at Fairfax High School. Every Sunday people flock to the MTP to sample local food and shop for unique goods. If Sunday's aren't really your thing, there's also a new Saturday venue at Taft Charter High in Woodland Hills.

4. Runyon Canyon

Famed for it's incredible views and as a decent work out, Runyon Canyon is one of the most popular places to hike in Los Angeles. Bring your dogs, babies or homies - all are welcomed!

5. 5. Urth Caffe

You really can't talk about LA without mentioning Urth Cafe. The LA based chain offers a variety of ethically farmed and organic coffees not to mention some of the most amazing health food. One of the most popular drinks, the Cafe Granita, inspires bands of angels to sings. Seriously- it's amazing. There are 5 locations across LA (B.Hills, Downtown, West Hollywood, Pasadena and Santa Monica). The West Hollywood location is even across the street from the Restoration Hardware mentioned in #2. Not to mention the entire menu is under $20.

6. Twilight Concerts

Located on the Santa Monica Pier every Thursday night starting in July, these free concerts showcase a variety of genres from Jazz, R&B, Indie Rock, Pop and more. Parking might not be free, but located just a few blocks from 3rd Street, these concerts create an opportunity for a great night out filled with local food and free tunes.

7. Bark n' Bitches

Located on Fairfax the Bark n' Bitches store is a no-kill humane animal adoption center. The greatest thing about it? You can go to the store and play with the puppies for hours with no pressure to adopt them! Puppy playtime for free? Sign me up right now.

Cost: Free! (purchasing an item get's you a discounted membership though!)

8. The Grove Farmer's Market

Located right off of 3rd Street in Downtown LA, the Farmers Market is a great place to find local and great tasting food. Prices at each stall range, but it isn't hard to keep your price down if you're on a tight budget.

9. Tree People

A non-profit organization aimed at "greenifying" Los Angeles, Tree People has one of the most vibrant parks in all of Los Angeles. The 45-acer park is located in Beverly Hills and is easily accessible for a day of hiking, picnicking, and relaxation. There are special tours available on select days including a fantastic moonlight hike throughout the area. (And furry friends are encouraged to visit as well!)

10. Eat See Hear

A summertime festival, Eat.See.Hear encompasses pretty much everything that makes life great. This event features a TON - yes literally - a ton of food trucks, live band performances and ends with a movie outdoors under the stars. Normal tickets are roughly $13.50 though upgraded tickets are available. Kids under 12 have a reduced price and kids under 5 are free!
