    STRESS LESS

    too much work & no play ? here are my top tips to calm yourself after a busy week !

    HI THERE !

    so recently i have been on a very high stress level and i have been finding it hard to calm down and soothe myself (alot more often than the usual weekly self treatment) and im going to share my routine with you ! as school ihas just come back for most of you (sos) ITS A STRESSFUL FEW WEEKS AHEAD AND WE ALL NEED PREPARATION :)

    step 1: Light a few candles

    this step is purely up to you, i just prefer to have a calming candle burning while i relax as it calms me down, i have been using the 'OAHU - ilima milk and honey' candle from Glasshouse Fragrances i got from my friend on my birthday, it smells absolutely breathtaking and it looks rather cute too :)

    step 2: Play some calming tunes

    this again is optional, some people cant relax while music is playing but i am the complete opposite, i LOVE to listen to some calming tunes as i relax, it slowers my heart beat down, it makes me feel completely whole, although do be careful not to blare the music too loud, as you may gain a headache and that will not be good!. i prefer music with high pitched tones and preferably no lyrics (i like to make my own story along with the song), my all time favourite artist to listen to while relaxing is 'Jonsi' - he makes absolutely beautiful music and mostly his lyrics isn't in english, so its quite interesting to listen too, i highly recommend ALL of his songs, i guarantee you wont be let down !!

    step 3: Get Comfy

    you cant relax if you are in uptight clothes now can you ? NO ! so take off your bra (if your a girl with boobies) get out your oversized t-shirt and your comfiest pair of trousers and a pair of fluffy socks (my fave) and resume a nice position either in your bed or your favourite seat in the house. This is one of the most important steps, as relaxing is ALOT harding in an uncomfortable surrounding - so i suggest you get comfy for a long stay !

    step 4: grab a book, favourite phone/ipad app, laptop or your preferred fanfiction

    now my personal favourite step is the final one - if your mind cant stop running around in circles or you get bored looking at the roof, grab something to entertain yourself! although be careful with what you grab, dont flick on the first reality tv show you find on TV or an action packed movie - try writing in a journal (or a blog ;)), tumblr, or your favourite book ! i personally would grab something to read (one direction fanfiction what) as your mind can be entertained with painting a picture from words and reading really relaxes me.

    and viola ! with the right combination of clothing, entertainment and background music you should be one comfy koala ! (australian slang activated oh dear)
