18 Reflections You Had After Being A Girls' Summer Camp Counselor

Laying in bed all summer didn't seem like the ideal way to spend the summer? Oh, how wrong you were!

    1. The moment you let yourself come to the realization that you sacrificed a summer with such potential to do this, your heart sunk. Oh, how it sunk.

    2. Your coworkers tended to forget that you were not there particularly to make friends, you were getting paid to do a job.

    3. It was at first refreshing to have no one who knew you around, but it quickly became desperately frustrating.

    4. Cliques do NOT end in High School... unfortunately.

    5. Almost romantic relationships can form in an incredibly short amount of time... between heterosexual females no less.

    6. Maturity has nothing and everything to do with age.

    7. Gossiping and complaining were heavy on the rotation of conversations at camp.

    8. You can actually absolutely hate people and not kill them.

    9. Baby talk is never not annoying.

    10. Any form of getting dressed became vanity.

    11. Being a camp counselor was the greatest excuse for any flaws in your appearance this summer.

    12. Getting up every morning became a toss-up between the need for more sleep or the need for cleanliness. Sleep ALWAYS won. Of course.

    13. You really loved some moments, but still generally hated your job.

    14. You can never listen to the Cup Song (or the Pitch Perfect soundtrack) ever again.

    15. No one likes Justin Bieber anymore.

    16. It takes incredible skill to be angry for pretty much two months straight.

    17. How you THOUGHT you'd feel...

    18. How you ACTUALLY feel.

But! You're exaggerating the horribleness of your experience.

After all is said and done, your sorta made one friend and you got to tick a shit load of things off your bucket list, things that your would never have gotten to do/done otherwise! Not all bad, see?
