Lana Del Rey recently released the video for her cover of Leonard Cohen's "Chelsea Hotel No. 2" in a very Lana Del Rey kind of way on Wednesday (March 27, 2013). The song was written by Leonard Cohen and first appeared on his fourth studio album "New Skin for the Old Ceremony," which was released in 1974. Cohen wrote the song about Janis Joplin, but he later regretted that decision. Lana Del Rey's video of the song, which is directed by Ant Shurmer, is a minimal clip featuring only the 26-year-old songstress. It begins with a shot of a flickering neon sign which reads Hotel Chelsea while the rest of the video switches between scenes of Del Rey singing into the microphone and dimly lit scenes of a woman smoking inside a room at the hotel.
