What 1 Million USD Looks Like In 15 US Cities

Last week, I posted a blog (on www.muenchnerschickeria.de) about how far 1000 EUR in rent will get you in 10 cities in Europe. To prove that the US can be just as diverse, this week we are looking at what million dollar homes looks like in various cities across the United States. You might be surprised.... In no particular order:

1. Dublin, Ohio: $1,000,000

5 beds, 5.5 baths, 6,278 square feet, 2.3 acres, and a view of the river. Vaulted ceilings, a bunch of fireplaces, and a 3 car garage. $175 per square foot. Not too shabby, Ohio.

2. Manhattan, New York: $999,999

1 bed, 1 bath, 557 square feet, $1,194 per square foot. But still nicer than most of us would have anticipated. I actually expected a dungeon apartment with no plumbing. Nice to know you can still find something livable in New York for a million bucks.

3. Atlanta, Georgia: $995,000

5 beds, 5 baths, 8,425 square foot lot, $373 per square foot. Supposedly in a very nice neighborhood.

4. Aspen, Colorado: $998,000

1 bed, 2 baths, 1,006 square feet, $992 per square foot. But what a view!

6 beds, 6 baths, 8,728 square feet, .57 acres, $112 per square foot. Has 10 foot high ceilings, imported paneling, french doors, a pool, and 7 fireplaces. Talk about a little bang for your buck!

6. New Orleans, Louisiana: $995,000

7. Scarborough, Maine: $1,000,000
