Jake Could Rule The World If He Were Human

Hi, I'm Tracey. I wasn't a dog person, but the first time I laid eyes on a picture of puggle years ago, I knew I had to have one. I met a man long ago who'd eventually give Jake to me for our one year anniversary. The guy is no longer around. To him: Thank you for giving me my best little buddy. Jake is my partner in crime. 8 years and counting, he and I. He hugs me. Gives me high fives. Sometimes he sits when I ask him to. He still doesn't know what I mean when I ask him to "Lay down." I've even gone so far as laying down on the floor to show him that he can handle that command. He's just not having it. I've accepted that. Jake and I don't spend enough time together these days. I'd like to change that. I'm busy with my full-time job and my new adventure -- Improv! And, having the time of my life. If only the Improv Shop in St. Louis were pet-friendly... I created this post because BuzzFeed's job application site requested that I do so in order to submit an application for an opening they have for a "Junior Animals Staff Writer". Sounds like a fun job. I recently took up writing. I love animals. And the woman who sent me the email about the job just so happens to be my best friend Wendy. She now lives in NY, NY and I love her from St. Louis, MO. She wouldn't steer me wrong. I have no plans for leaving my great city or my full-time job, but I sure would love to spend some time writing about animals. Including my somewhat human dog, Jake. Thanks for your consideration.
