1. Social Media Updates
Hashtag, hey girl! I am currently at the mall! Did I tell you? My home is wide open and I won't be home for several hours. Want a new big screen television? Does this seem like a common occurrence? Initially, it might seem harmless, but announcing your daily activities on social media can lead to massive problems and loss. Announcing your home's vacancy is inviting a burglar inside.
2. Leaving Ladders Outside
3. Passwords, Passwords, Passwords
A password is a wonderful thing, when it works correctly. Unfortunately, a lot of see it as nothing more than an inconvenience. We skirt around the sign-in and automatically allow the cookies to do our bidding. Others are even worse. Using the same password at 20 sites might seem like a good idea for convenience's sake, but it isn't. Don't do it. The idea is terrible and could potentially lead to problems in the future.
4. Cellphones, Selfies and an Impending Doom
Cellphones are incredibly cool and fun. Unfortunately, some people take things a little too far. Walking down the road and texting is dumb, but driving and performing the same task is even more so. How about those selfies? Have you managed to capture the most viral-worthy selfie ever? Wake up! Selfies are becoming just as dangerous as guns in America! Pretty soon Congress will need to debate the Selfie Abolishment Act of 2016!
5. Hide the key!
Overall
At the end of the day, people have gotten a little too lazy and a bit too risky. Maybe they just want a little peace of mind and reassurance? Or perhaps they're after a little convenience? Unfortunately, their behavior could lead to disaster. Be sure to stop performing the activities above, because they're going to get you into serious trouble!
