Including what to do with The Chair.
Tuck that mess away by creating a charging station in the top drawer of your nightstand. Cut a hole in the backboard of your nightstand that's just big enough to feed a plug through to the outlet. To keep things extra neat, you can mount the power strip on the back of the drawer with Command strips or screws. This hack will keep your bedside table clean and clear and under control (heh heh).
You could mount it on the back of your bedroom door or closet door — either way, it's an easy way to store little things like nail polish, hats, and hair ties. Plus, the hooks on the bottom are ideal for hanging scarves or bags.
Tank tops, man. They either get balled up and pushed to the back of a drawer, or they end up thrown all over the floor. Solution: Use a tie hanger and its multitude of rungs to keep them all in one place!
Adding vertical storage to your desk is a freakin' life-saver. And all it takes is a shelf! You can get one from Amazon for $29.90.
Lay down a piece of felt. Add two lines of hot glue, dividing the piece into thirds. Then, place another piece of felt on top of that one, and add three lines of hot glue to it, dividing it into fourths. Repeat this process with six more pieces of felt (alternating two lines, three lines, two lines, three lines, two lines, three lines). Cut the entire stack in half, horizontally. Glue those two halves together, and boom! You'll be able to stretch it out to reveal lil' pockets that can hold individual pairs of underwear. Watch this hack come to life.
All you have to do is cut pieces of PVC to the height of the drawer! Then, you can use them to organize rolled-up t-shirts, socks, underwear, or whatever needs some tidying in your dresser.
It'll give your room an ~industrial~ look. BTW, you can use PVC cement to hold the pipes together so they don't roll all over the place.
Install two rods evenly, several inches apart, to hold your sneakers, flats, and shoes. And for your heels, install one rod a few inches higher than the other so they can sit at a slant.
File folders are perfect for organizing flats and flip-flops! There's nothing sadder than a forgotten pile of mismatched sandals shoved in the back of a closet.
Never know where to throw that shirt you just wore that isn't "all the way dirty" yet? If you're going to leave it out, you might as well make it look fashionable: Drape it over a rung on a decorative ladder! It's also perfect for hanging hats, scarves, and other items that didn't have a home before. You'll actually be able to sit on The Chair for once, too. You could DIY one if you're feeling crafty, or get one from Amazon for $50.
Floating? Corner?? Shelf??? This hack is trendy as hell — and handy for storing books, remotes, plants, and any other items that clutter your space. Just stick a cool file folder to the wall with some Command strips and you're finished.
Take a frame and remove the glass covering and the cardboard backing. Wrap the front side of the backing with contact paper. Then, flip it over, and glue on the ends of a wire or string so that it's taut (and visible) across the front. Put the backing on the frame again, and voilà: You can hang pairs of sunglasses on it! Watch how it's done.
This has a bigger impact than you might think. Matching hangers not only make your closet look supremely organized (and stylish if you go for velvet), but it also gets rid of the mess and bulkiness of a wooden hanger here, a wire hanger there, a plastic hanger jutting out and poking you in the eye. You can get a 30-pack of black velvet hangers from Amazon for $14.99.
This hack is way better than just flinging your ties, belts, and scarves over a hanger and watching them slip off into the abyss that is your closet floor.
Mirrors open up and brighten a room, plus this one has secret storage for all of your bling, so you don't have to display a tangled mess out in the open. You could create this mirror yourself, or get one from Amazon for $59.99.
You could even add shelves and make them adjustable so that you can organize all of your stuff — candles, hats, books, you name it — any way you want. Whatcha waitin' for? Check out the instructions.
