9 Reasons Why Bernie Sanders Could Be A Better Pick Than Hillary Clinton

In the race to become the 45th President of the United States, the baggage-free liberal could be a better bet for the Democrats than the establishment Hillary.

1. Bernie is baggage-free

He's never been hounded by the media over his emails, Benghazi or his charitable foundation's dodgy accounts. While there isn't much not to like about Bernie's public record, Hillary is divisive and her name on the ballot could really mobilize the Republican base.

2. He's got a consistent track-record

Bernie voted against DOMA in 1996 (Hillary only backed gay marriage in 2013, while earlier opposing it) and he's never taken money from corporate interests (Hillary is suddenly pro-campaign finance reform despite her donors).

3. His surname isn't Clinton or Bush

Which will help especially if the Republican nominee is Jeb Bush.

4. He can mobilize the Democratic base

Standing room only - event after event after event. Already filling out venues hitting 8000 and more (and polling at 31% in NH), Bernie could seriously mobilize the Democratic base in a general election.

5. His libertarian streak could attract Republicans

Should Rand Paul fail to win his party's nomination (as is likely), Bernie's positions on the PATRIOT Act (against), the Iraq War (against) and the decriminalization of marijuana (for) could win over a lot of libertarian Republicans. (all issues on which Hillary disagrees)

He's above the 50/50 partisan politics which annoys so many Americans. The longest-serving Independent in U.S. congressional history, he can attract swing voters without forcing them to feel party political.
