Meeko

This furry creature loves eating. Done deal. And he's the first person to warm up to John Smith—you know, the person who Pocahontas falls in love with! How's that for being a bangin best friend?

Bing Bong

This character’s name is half the reason he’s made it to honorable mention. He sounds like the title of a board game. No matter, he’s the coolest imaginary character Disney ever created.

Crocodile from Peter Pan

This Crocodile can literally make Captain Hook’s mustache bounce around to the sound of a ticking clock. Power.

10. Maximus

The audience never hears one word from Maximus yet we know exactly what he’s thinking all the time. That coupled with the fact that he held a sword in his mouth(HE’S A HORSE) and fought Flynn immediately thrusts Maximus to the forefront of Disney sidekick lore.

9. Edna Mode

“My gosh you’ve gotten fat.” -- Winner: Edna Mode. Little old Edna is only in The Incredibles for about 10 minutes yet she’s one of my favorite Disney characters of all time. I constantly hear “NO CAPES” inserted into conversations all around me, proving her impact as a Disney sidekick. And yes, she was one!

8. Baymax

Baymax made me laugh more than any other Disney character ever. From his clumsiness to the way he skips around to his lack of common sense, Baymax made me practically roll around on the floor in laughter. Maybe I had too many Sour Patch Kids that night.

Hula Dance. Lion King 1 ½. Basically everything. These are the three reasons they’re number 6 on the countdown.

5. Dug

“BUT HE’S A TALKING DOG!” That’s what I have to say to anybody who disagrees with Dug being number 5. This poor canine was put in a cone of shame and then (very cleverly), stuck his own mortal enemy in that same cone of shame at the films conclusion. Baller status. Squirrel!

4. Mushu

I’ve memorized all of Mushu’s lines. Lines like, “I think my bunny slippers just ran for cover.” or “THIS IS A WAR MAN, THIS AINT NO TIME FOR STUPID QUESTIONS.” immediately and forcefully come to mind. Eddie Murphy borderline deserved an academy award for this performance.

3. Dory

Dory is one of everybody’s favorites. Her unique dilemma of having short term memory loss was unforgettable (hahahaha…….ha), and I remember balling in the theatre as a kid when her and Marlin split ways. Ellen DeGeneres, you’ll always be BAE because of Dory. “ESCAPEEEEEHHHHHH”

2. Kronk

I must admit, Kronk is my personal favorite sidekick. My sister and I fling quotes of his around like a Frisbee on a college campus. “More broccoli?” “WRESTLED YOU IN HIGH SCHOOL.” If you remember these quotes, please contact me so we can become best friends immediately. Kronk is straight magical because we don’t know whether he’s a good guy or bad guy, as we can tell from his conversations with shoulder angel and devil. “THAT’LL WORK.”

1. Genie

Call me sentimental, but Genie will always hold a special place in my heart because of Robin Williams. No character was ever as colorful, smart, or wonderful as Genie. “Should I call you Al or maybe just Din or how about Ladi???” – Brilliance. Make no mistake, Genie isn’t just one of the best Disney side kicks, he’s one of the best Disney characters of all time. I mentioned movie quotes before, and I’ll have ya’ll know my family and I quote nobody more than the Genie. Here’s to you, Robin. “Jafar Jafar he’s our man if he can’t do it GREAT.”
