The Best Weekender Bag On The Internet

Whatever you’re using for weekend trips or midweek sleepovers at bae’s place, it is inferior to this bag.

Before it's on backorder again, open a new tab and buy this Everlane weekender bag.

Whatever bag you're currently using for weekend trips or midweek sleepovers at bae's place, it is inferior to this one. Gift your bag to someone you don't like or throw it out. The Everlane Dipped Weekender has arrived and it's not taking any prisoners.

Over the years, I've had a number of quality travel bag companions but was always looking out for my soulmate. One who would be there there for me through thick and thin. That isn't afraid of a little rain on a sidewalk, or would look like garbage after I used it three times. A bag that doesn't make me look like a doofus when I carry it with a suit on. And finally, I found that.

The Everlane Dipped Weekender is the duffel I thought my Herschel bag was going to be. Herschel bags are nice: They're relatively cheap and they look cool. But after a few travel weekends, mine started to show some wear. The handles didn't feel as nice and the bottom of my gray bag looked filthy.

I've traveled a number of times with my Everlane Dipped Weekender and haven't looked back. Here's why:

The quality boasted is real. Everlane is transparent about their markups and claims the identical weekender would cost $220 at other retailers. Everlane sells it for $115. I was skeptical of the quality claim until I got the bag. The water-resistant cotton twill looks and feels nice. The water resistance isn't just marketing buzz, either. I tested this (not by choice, on a day I forgot an umbrella).

The leather straps keep getting better. I thought the wide leather straps were soft when I pulled the bag from the box. Now, after a few trips, they have broken in like pair of Italian racing gloves.

The dipped bottom is a lifesaver. There are going to be times when a bag has to be placed on the ground – especially if you live in a place like New York City or you frequent airports – and the dipped bottom allows you to do that without hating yourself.

I can set my bag down on the sidewalk after a hard rain without wondering if I'll be cleaning it later to no avail. One time at a Starbucks, I accidentally set my weekender down in a puddle of latte. That would mean the end of most bags, but not the dipped weekender. A few swipes with a damp paper towel the mess was gone.

I've never lost anything inside this bag. Inside Everlane weekender bags is a pocket that zips and is big enough to hold my keys, wallet, sunglasses case, gum and other travel necessities. Gone are the days of rummaging through my travel bag for those things. There's plenty of room for a toothbrush and toothpaste, too, but isn't that what a toiletry bag is for?

It's a sharp-looking bag. If you wear a suit or dress business casual to the office, you can take this weekender with you and still look the part. Don't be that man or woman dressed to the nines wearing a backpack or carrying a smelly gym bag. In fact, this weekender might actually dress up your outfit.

Disclosure: I do not have any stake in Everlane the company. It's just good karma to share a bag like this with others.
