It always cracks me up when people act surprised that China, an authoritarian regime we owe trillions of dollars to and one we disrespect and treat like wage slaves and to whom we ship our toxic electronics for "recycling," it always cracks me up when people are surprised that they poison are children's toys or steal our intellectual property that they labor over 7 days a week for $25 a week. But look, maybe liberal economists were right all along: if companies are forced to pay Chinese workers a fair wage, and not pollute their land, the jobs seem to "automagically," to use a Steve Jobs word, return to our shores. That's good for everyone. We should be exporting American values, not our manufacturing jobs. Sure Apple can rouse 8,000 Chinese workers in the middle of the night and force them to work 12 hour shifts. But that's not capitalism, it's colonialism.
