7 Books Series All Children Must Read

Children nowadays hardly read books and the ones they read are trashy "Youtuber" diaries\journals mostly written by ghost writers. Here's a list of some book series that we all saw in childhood. Or at least, some of us..... Obviously, a few of us were stuck inside sticking their tongues out in front of a camera for Youtube. But we won't talk about that. :)

1. Harry Potter

This is a must for all kids. Teaching us about how brave we can be and that friends can make life easier and better. Loyalty and Family are above power and love is stronger than hate. The story is around Harry Potter who is wizard with a hell of a childhood, after being brought up by Muggles. When he finally gets his letter to Hogwarts, his many adventures with his friends, Hermione and Ron will leave you swarming back for more.

2. Lord Of The Rings and the Hobbit

As well as cute but dangerous adventures, both books have a good sense of right and wrong. The hobbit is the more friendlier book but LoTR is recommended strongly to read as well. No matter how small you are you can always make a difference and be someone in life. It just depends on whether you want an adventure. Hobbits are unadventurous at first but are brought out of their shells by thrilling quests.

The Hobbit is about a young hobbit who agrees to help a lovable band of dwarves get their freedom and land back from an evil dragon with the help of a wizard.

The Lord Of The Rings follows Frodo and Samwise's quest to destroy the One Ring in Mordor.

LoTR is set 70 years after the Hobbit and shares some of the favourite characters.

3. The Chronicles Of Narnia

The Chronicles of Narnia are a very christian themed book. There are strong views on right and wrong morals and it's overall a good choice for teaching respect and justice to children. There are lovable characters and nice adventures. Although it is influenced heavily by Christianity, anyone would fall in love with it. The most popular story, The Lon The Witch and The Wardrobe is about four bored children playing hide and seek and then stumbling onto a rather peculiar wardrobe.

4. His Dark Materials Series

Set in the little town of Oxford, this is very different book to Narnia; the opposite. Strong Atheist views and overall darkness, covers the sweet girl and adventures she has. Brave Lyra is ready to fight almost anything for her friends and does. Not for children easliy offended or extremely religious. Lots of lying and violence.

5. Sherlock Holmes

The best detective series, inspiring many others to come. Follow the private consulting detective in London with his friend John Watson and colleague, Lestrade in their thrilling adventures. Quite dark with references to drug abuse. Note that this was written a long time ago and therefore has views from that time as well.

Arthur Conan Doyle has been described as the best writer of short stories ever and will appeal to children who like it short and sweet.

6. Alex Rider Series

Follow Alex Rider, the teen James Bond as he is forced to work for MI6 in dangerous missions which cost him everything. Another fantastically written book by Anthony Horowitz, spun with classy-ness and laced with risk.

Some naughty themes and places are visited but any 11+ will get them. Nowadays, anyway. It is a cutting edge book which any teen of any gender who likes spies would want to read.

7. The Faraway Tree and Wishing Chair series

For younger readers, a dip in Enid Blyton's less mystery themed stories is a must. Children will be entranced into the enchanted woods and fall in love with the easy characters and plots. The Wishing Chair is filled with discovery of new weird and wonderful places as two children and a pixies use a strange chair they find in a magic shop.

The Faraway Tree is about 4 children moving to the countryside beside a great enchanted forest and finding magical people and a great tree, which goes right up to the sky. A new land is at the top of the tree every so often and the children adventure there as often as possible.
