10 Discontinued Olympic Sports

Being an Olympic Sport is tough. You have to prove to be unique enough to attract spectators, but still be somewhat of a sport at the same time (we are looking at you Dressage). So it comes with little surprise that there have been quite a few Olympic Sports who have not made the cut. Here are a few of the some of the best ones.

9. Pesäpallo (Finnish Baseball): 1952

Regular Baseball also got a chance up until this year and Cricket even had a chance in 1900, but the IOC just doesn't appreciate the game.

Yep, you read that right, the goal was to shoot as many live birds as possible to win a medal. Nearly 300 birds were killed in the one and only time this was seen at the Olympics.
