Big Brother Alert: Video Ads in Malls Are Embedded With Hidden Cameras
Video ads in malls, stores, gyms, etc. are being embedded with hidden cameras that track who looks at the screen and for how long. The tracking systems can determine the viewer’s gender, approximate age, and ethnicity, and change the ads accordingly. Manufacturers say the software doesn't record the footage or store personally identifiable info, but who can be sure?
