An Open Letter To People At The Gym

and 8 simple ways to be a better person

    My Friends in Fitness,

Though in many instances exercise can be a meditative, soothing practice, it can also quickly turn into a satanic rage under the right conditions of the human tendency to be self-centered pricks.

I have taken it upon myself to begin the long and tedious process of educating the general public on basic gym etiquette. By following these 8 simple rules, you can play an active role in creating a positive gym atmosphere, make fewer enemies, and make it through a workout without getting throat-punched.

To help you be less of an asshole, here are 8 simple rules:

    1. Don't be a selfish prick.

    2. Re-rack your weights.

    3. You don’t own anything.

    4. It’s not sex.

    5. Wrap it up.

    6. Do not approach the animals.

    7. Be nice.

    8. NO COUNTRY MUSIC EVER.

Go forth. Run. Lift. Sweat. Don't let butt exercises make you feel weird. Re rack your dang weights. Let it be the positive experience that it's supposed to be. Be nice, work hard, and don't you dare let anyone know that you listen to country music at 6:00AM.

    Love,

    KW
