Did I Ever Tell You About London?

I probably did not... But please enjoy yourself and have fun as I tell you about my trip to London...

The Early Train

It was an early morning when we left from Windsor, Ontario, Canada. We actually started from across the Detroit River but the train we departed from was in Windsor, so I will say we left from there rather than Detroit. It was an early start but I was ready for the trip of a lifetime.

I will not lie I thought the chocolate milk looked like it was saying Lets go... That was most likely my excitement for traveling outside of the United States but hey who wouldn't be excited to travel outside of their home country.

Having been up since around four in the morning I had not eaten breakfast so I figured eight o' clock would be a reasonable time for breakfast...

Not to London, England of course but soon enough we would be in Toronto heading there....

Prior to leaving Canada for the United Kingdom.... I will not take the time to name everyone in the photo but they are all the people I love enough not to make a goofy face in a picture that will one day be posted on a blog similar to this.

After Around Seven Hours of Air Travel

After an overnight flight to London, we landed at London Gatwick Airport and walked to the train station where we would go to our sleeping accommodations for the conference. This was my first sight and knowing I was in the United Kingdom.

It could have also been the picture of Her Majesty the Queen at London Gatwick but this is the only photograph I have on hand for this post.

We stayed at the Football stadium.... It was fantastic and strange at the same time....

If you have a chance I recommend this restaurant, their burgers were delicious and I enjoyed it very much.

The Conference

I might as well explain the conference a little bit....

The Salvation Army this past summer celebrated its 150th year anniversary and to celebrate they had a congress dedicated to all of the different countries The Salvation Army is active in...

Outside of the conference

When it was not in the midst of a heat wave it was nice to go over to Parliament and be able to hear the bells. It was beautiful and awesome all at the same time.

How Hot???

So Hot I had to take my tie off and sweat like the hyper sweater I am... Thank goodness I did not wear an undershirt.....

Met the Queen...

In fact I met two queens and one of my family friends scolded me for setting this as my profile picture because they did not like that I was a leader and that people look up to me and that this picture is not a "Good example for them to follow..." I respect what they had to say but I do not regret getting this picture...

All I got was Soda and chips (French fries) and I sat at a pub where Charles Dickens, Mark Twain, Theodore Roosevelt, and Conan Doyle drank and probably wrote some of their more famous works.

Behold Admiral Ackbar Ventured with me to Paris, it was very busy and traffic was super busy as well... Although I can officially say, I only spoke french two or three times....

The Assembly National

I have been two other legislative bodies but not my own... What is up with that....

Fun but not so fun story ahead...

The North Station.... Meet up at seven o' clock if you get separated.... "IF YOU GET SEPARATED" That is the key phrase their... We (My family and myself) were on a hop on hop-on-hop-off bus in Paris, Paris was nice to see the different areas and stand where infamous people probably stood. While on a hop-on-hop-off bus I had the pleasure of sleeping under the skies of Paris... The down-side, one may ask? Everyone else got off the bus and I was left behind on the bus and left to the elements... I was able to navigate back to Gare Du Nord, but no one else was there. Nor was there a good Wifi to contact people that I was at the station waiting. While there I saw Nial Horan on the escalator but did not recognize him until there was impromptu concert. There is no photographic of me seeing him, so you are welcome to believe me or not believe me... I will not lie it was not as scary but there was something that kind of freaked me out... There was a guy who I would talk to, while waiting for my family to get there. He eventually asked if I was waiting for someone... It felt like a scene out of Taken, I stayed close to the piano and a man tried to have me sing a song in french I did not even know... It was around six thirty when I saw a familiar face, it was my uncle and his family. I excitedly went downstairs and everyone was surprised that I made it to the station, me and my aunt went to McDonald's where we attempted to contact my mom who was with the Police rushing to find Wifi. While at McDonald's I confirmed that Vincent in Pulp Fiction was correct about the "Royale with Cheese" Once we got back to the station we met up with my mom who would not let me out of her sight no matter what...

Back in the United Kingdom

I did much since getting back, I went to the London Eye and stayed in Chiswick for a while with my family. It was awesome to go to London and Paris, I went to more places but that would make this a lengthy post. I may do a follow up post with more stories of what I did and saw, until then I will probably wait and give this time to be viewed and seen.

Back Home in the USA

I will miss my adventures in London and once I got back home it was not much of a transition to go back to working in the summer... I finished the Summer out as a Lifeguard and went on to become a student in Kankakee, Illinois, USA. I will not say where but you will have to guess... I will not confirm where but I have to say it was fun adventuring...
