Ryan Reynolds Tried To Explain To His Daughter Why Being A Child Actor Is "Unhealthy," And It Didn't Go Well

"Showbiz is not good for kids!"

If you know anything about Ryan Reynolds, you know that he rarely talks about his kids.

This week, the Deadpool star opened up about his 4-year-old daughter, James, and revealed she wants to be an actor.

“I’m fine if she wants to be an actor. Go ahead," he told late night host Jimmy Fallon. "You know, in school, do after school stuff like that. That’s all fine," he added.

"Right now it’s every day is like a recital, she’s singing songs, she’s doing little plays at home, but being a child actor in movies and stuff, that’s a whole other ball of wax," he said.

Ryan continued, saying, "I tried to explain to her, that’s a huge burden on your nervous system. Having to process all of that attention and information. Also, you develop all of these unhealthy coping mechanisms."

But the proud dad admitted James just looked at him like, "she didn't know what the fuck I was talking about." 😂

Ryan then joked, "I was like, what’s cheaper and easier is let’s skip showbiz and enroll you right into cocaine. Because showbiz is not good for kids! I feel like we should know this by now."

With an amazing dad like Ryan — and a great mom like Blake — I'm sure James will be just fine if she does decide to pursue acting.
