The Prince Of Denmark Is Planning On Taking His Grudge Against His Wife To The Grave

Turns out, Prince Henrik is the Prince of Pettiness.

This here is Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik of Denmark. They sure do look like they'll be together forever, don't they?

WELL, don't be deceived by their grins and coordinated outfits. Prince Henrik recently announced that he is refusing to be buried next to his wife of 50 years after they both die because he was never promoted from prince to "king consort."

Apparently, the French-born Henrik was named prince consort after they got married, a fact that's made him a little miffed, to say the least. He's apparently never felt equal to his wife or gotten his own salary, and he even has had to ask his wife for cigarette money!

"It is no secret that the prince for many years has been unhappy with his role and the title he has been awarded in the Danish monarchy," the Royal Danish House’s director of communications, Lene Balleby, told BT. “This discontent has grown more and more in recent years."

Balleby said "the Queen has known it for a long time, so it does not come now as a surprise," and the news does not mean the couple is divorcing.

It just means that Prince Henrik will find his own burial spot, and show his discontent to all for centuries to come, like anyone who loves a grudge would.

It also means that Queen Margrethe will be laid to rest under her glass sarcophagus hoisted up by silver elephants in Denmark's Roskilde Cathedral alone for eternity, instead of with her husband, as was originally planned.

But...if you had glass sarcophagus hoisted up by silver elephants, wouldn't you want it all to yourself, anyway?
