Guests usually hope for three things before going to a wedding: Good food, free booze, and for no one else to be wearing the same outfit as them.
So hopefully these women were well-fed and tipsy when they realized they were all wearing the essentially the exact. same. dress. at bride Julia Mammone's Sept. 16 wedding.
Can you imagine?! It's not unusual for two people to be wearing the same dress at a wedding, but six?!
Mammone told the Daily Telegraph that she thought the whole thing was “friggin’ bloody hilarious," but some of the matching women weren't so thrilled.
“At first there were a few dirty looks among the girls in the same dress who didn’t quite know whether to laugh it off or go home and get changed. In the end we all cracked up about it. It’s every girl’s worst nightmare, what else can you do?"
The frock is by Forever New, and it's honestly a really great dress to wear to a wedding — it's a neutral navy blue, it's got a fun pattern, and the neckline and length are appropriate for almost any level of formality.
Speranza shared the delightful photo of the accidental bridesmaids to Forever New's Facebook page, where it's gotten more than 11,000 comments, most of which expressed disbelief at the coincidence.
Some, though, accurately pointed out that the dresses are NOT as identical as they seem at first glance. Upon closer inspection, the leftmost dress and the one third from the left are the same as each other, but slightly different from the other four.
So ok, they're not exactly the same, but if you saw someone at a wedding whose dress looked just like yours, save for some extra lace here and a slightly different pattern there, you'd still feel like you had a doppelgänger in the room, right?
