I was confused by this one because my parents’ 1950s house has a ton of floor vents. Like, where else do you put them? And cold air exchanges need to be on the floor too usually. 90% of the vents in my house are on the floor.
Developers of new suburbs don’t want to pay for back lanes or give up space in the development for them, which could’ve gone to cramming more giant houses in. So, garages have to be on the front!
The REASON for it is lack of back lanes due to developers not wanting to pay the extra cost and give up the space for back lanes. But it’s really bad for getting eyes on the street and building community.
