A person's BAC, or blood alcohol content, is the measurement used to determine a person's intoxication level. Too high of a BAC can lead to alcohol poisoning and black outs.

There is no "safe" standard alcohol level and you are taking a risk _every time_ you drink. Always have a designated driver or use ride-sharing services, like Uber or Lyft, when you're going out!

Ethanol is the main ingredient that makes alcohol. The alcohol by volume, or commonly called the ABV, is simply how much ethanol is in a bottle of alcohol.

So, beer bonging 5 Miller Lites will affect you faster than sipping 5 beers spread out over a few hours (granted both ways will get you intoxicated). The safest way to maintain a safe BAC level is by having one drink per hour.

By having one drink per hour, your body can process each drink at a time. Drinking water in between alcoholic beverages will also keep you hydrated and help prevent a hangover. Eating a well-balanced meal is essential in order for the alcohol to absorb the food to avert having alcohol poisoning and blacking out. More importantly, combining substances can have a negative or uncertain health effect when mixed with alcohol, hence avoid mixing substances.
