7 Things To Consider When Picking Your Room

Calling all Owls, new and returning! The time to pick your room is nearing and there's lots to consider. Let's dive into the top seven considerations you should have when selecting your room at Temple University.

The View

Philadelphia's skyline is a marvel and definitely something to consider as you're selecting housing for the academic year. Morgan Hall North, typically reserved for sophomores and up, offers the best views on the south side of the building.

The Amenities

Do you want a kitchenette? A TV? WiFi included? You can have it all! All room types in all halls include heating, air, water, WiFi, and are cable-ready. Apartment style residence halls, reserved for upperclassmen, offer kitchens and TVs!

The Proximity

The Experience

Each residence hall offers a unique experience to life on campus. Traditional halls are just like what you see in the movies - lots of people, shared common areas, and communal bathrooms. Suites and apartments, however, have entryways and private bathrooms with the opportunity to live with more people, while also allowing for some extra quiet space. Be sure to check out the suite and apartment style residence halls!

The Bathroom

This is a big one, you guys. Communal bathrooms are cleaned and restocked by professional staff and allow you to find your favorite among the many showers. Private, in-unit bathrooms are cleaned and all supplies are refilled by the residents. The question is, which do you prefer?

The Other Residents

Want to live people with similar interests? There's so many options to choose from. Living Learning Communities, academic and thematic cohorts of both new and returning students, are in every hall and new students are welcome to apply! If an LLC doesn't sound like you, but you still want to be near people with similar interests, you can select housing in the halls that host the LLCs, though you won't be able to participate in any LLC-specific programming.
