It was suggested to me, by someone whom I respect totally, and have respected since, what, perhaps, May of 2009...maybe...I can't recall exactly but, anyhow, anyway, after digressing a little, here it goes, but, again, it was suggested to me by someone whom I totally respect to just write from the heart, unrehearsed so here is that initial attempt.
It was YOUR show that kept me going all these years. Your show, fresh on the heels of the two intuitives who were on the air before you, whom I also listened to...it was you all, as a conduit to the unknown, who kept me on the edge of my seat awaiting what you would say next about my ongoing predicament. I am forever grateful to not only yourselves but the many individuals associated with you all whom have come into my life as well...since my life fell apart back in 2008.
Guess what? I am still here, breathing oxygen, still confronting the same obstacles, etc. and I am not ready yet to take my final dirt nap. I gotta lotta livin' left in me and goals to achieve.
Keep in mind that it was YOUR suggestion, tonite, 8/27/14, that gave birth to this newbie middle aged embryo who is now actively engaging the blogosphere (spelling? I don't care) and if by some chance, YOU who I am referring to, ever see this post, well, know this: I am NOT a writer but just an old school cat who, in order to release some pressure, and tell a story, my story, well, this same old school cat may have a thing or two to say about his own life in anonymity and, in the process, put a few life lessons to pen and paper, i.e., this posting...and YOU know exactly who YOU are! LOL! Maybe one day you and your staff will see this "start up" of my brain on the world wide web...but I don't think so.
On your radio show tonite, after approximately six years of listenership on my part, I gave out my age. I was just being honest and caught up in the flow of the dialogue. Are guys in their 40's considered middle aged? Back in the day, when conversing with folks whom I thought were middle aged, well, they were all in their mid 50's so where is the dividing line? Where is the bracket? Where is that border and what side is this NEWBIE blogger standing? Is this my beers talking? Methinks it might be...
After a few cold ones have been consumed by yours truly (I will mention some of my favorite beverages in the near future, that is, IF I am still allowed by Redgage to put my brain to the pen), reiterating on the fly, after a few cold ones have been consumed by yours truly, I am quite sure that no one will see this 2:25 AM in the morning attempt at prose and this is precisely why I placed it, up here, on Buzzfeed because, after all, let us face some immediate facts: THIS is the domain of the professional blogger; however, this acknowledgement did not stop me at all.
I have survived long enough to reduce myself to communicating with an audience of three persons: me, myself and I (old school rap title from De La Soul from Spring of 1989...remember that?). There are thousands of blog postings up here on Buzzfeed but, to whomever else might read this, well, I wish you, as the late great Don Cornelius would say, Love, Peace and Soul and please don't be too judgmental because I have not really wrote anything just yet. THIS right here is my introduction to you.
If something comes across my mind, well, I will not hesitate to bring it forth and share it with the one or two sets of eyeballs who might accidentally come across it. I am signing off for now and heading back to that magical refrigerator where the cold ones are kept. It is time to down one more for the road or, should I say, one more for the hallway from the kitchen.
