Daniel Radcliffe has the corona virus 😔

BREAKING: Daniel Radcliffe (AKA Harry Potter) has tested positive with Corona Virus 🦠

The hoax originated from a fake BBC News account called @BBCNewsTonight, which has since been suspended. The tweet, which was published on Tuesday, read, "BREAKING: Daniel Radcliffe tests positive for coronavirus. The actor is said to be the first famous person to be publicly confirmed."

Fake BBC account with 125 followers fake-infected Daniel Radcliffe with covid-19. Link resolves to a genuine BBC news alert page that hasn't been updated since 2017.

You'd think people would be wary of any account claiming to be from the BBC that isn't verified and only has 125 followers. But it quickly spread to the point where Daniel had to speak out.

In a phone interview with Australian radio show "Smallzy's Surgery," The Boy Who Doesn't Have Coronavirus was asked if the rumors are true.

There’s a rumour going around that Daniel Radcliffe has coronavirus… I got him on the phone to confirm or deny 👀 #SmallzysSurgery

"It is funny that you ask me that today, particularly, 'cause I walked into the hair and makeup room on the play yesterday and the makeup artist was just like, 'My niece has just texted me and told me you've got corona.' I was like 'What?!'"

The makeup artist then showed him the tweet that started it all. Daniel had a good sense of humor about the whole thing, saying, "I think it's just because I look ill all the time, so you can believably say it about me 'cause I'm very pale."

So there you have it, folks! Daniel Radcliffe is fine! He's busy acting in Endgame on the West End. I just hope he's using hand sanitizer after meeting fans.
