23 Fall Food And Kitchen Items We Love To Use On A Crisp Fall Day

It's time for lattes and soups.

    1. A gorgeous porcelain Japanese tea set that will make every day feel like you're having a tea party.

    Tasia Bass / Buzzfeed

I collect tea sets and was so happy when a friend got me this Japanese tea set for my birthday last month. This is extremely cute and simple. It sits on my table by my front window so I can have tea while I am journaling or reading in the morning. It comes with 6 cups, the teapot, a stainer, and a detachable tray. It's easy to wash (I hand wash it), and it all fits neatly on the tray, taking up very little room. I use my perfect spoon to measure out exactly how much tea I should add to make sure I make enough for myself and my guests. This set is so perfect for tea parties with friends or yourself. Plus it's beautiful as decor on these chilly days. It has a design of the Japanese countryside that I miss roaming around. It doesn't leak when you pour. I love it so much.

Get it from Amazon for $41.39.

    2. A Fellow electric kettle for cold days where you just want a nice cup of tea while snuggling with your favorite blanket on the couch.

    Tasia Bass / Buzzfeed

I make a ton of coffee and tea, so I actually had this in my cart awhile before someone ended up getting it for me as a gift. I love this kettle so much. I know it seems like a ton of money, but it is totally worth the price. It has a gooseneck spout that allows for precision, which makes my pour overs so much better. You can control how hot the kettle gets, which is important because different teas and coffees need to be heated at different temps. Plus there's a hold button for those like me, that often get distracted and walk away from the kettle for 20 minutes. It will keep the kettle at the temp you need it to be until you finally make your drink. Also you can change it between Fahrenheit and Celsius. It's easy to clean, easy to store, easy to use. I've had it for a year now and it has been one of my most used kitchen appliance.

Get it from Fellow or Amazon for $165+ (comes in a variety of colors).

    3. cow embossing rolling pin to add an udderly adorable design to your pie crust.

This was a Christmas gift and I love it. An avid baker and a massive cow lover, I think this rolling pin is so adorable. It makes delicate cow shapes and the rolling pin rolls very smoothly. The shapes do stay more pronounced if you chill the dough before rolling.

Get it from Doughroller on Etsy for $14.90.

    4. A butterscotch chai tea, because it's tea season and time we start acknowledging all the great teas out there.

Move over Pumpkin Spice Latte, it's time to crown the new king of fall drinks. I like chai tea, but this one really surprised me. It has this soft, caramel-y flavor that complements the chai so well. Also, it's caffeine-free! Which means I can drink it before bed without worrying it will keep me up.

Get it from DavidsTea for $10.98+.

    5. Or a decaffeinated pumpkin spice tea, for those who desperately miss Pumpkin Spice Latte but have stopped drinking caffeine. This will satisfy your craving, and envelop you in warm hug of pumpkin and cinnamon.

    Emma Lord/BuzzFeed

"I swear by this tea in the fall when I'm winding down at the end of a work day — 'tis very yummy and pumpkin-esque on its own, but when I'm feeling fancy, I like to froth some milk or half 'n half and pour the tea over it for some extra cozy vibes (I use the Zulay milk frother for $14.99 on Amazon!)." —Emma Lord

Get an 18-pack from Amazon for $6.90.

    6. A splurge-worthy cast-iron Dutch oven, because nothing makes a cool fall day better than a pot of soup. It is made with enamel, making it hard for you to scorch or chip.

    Made In, Tasia Bass

I've only had mine for like two months now, but when I say I use it a lot, I mean it. I have made stews, curries, soups, and more in it. It is very versatile and sturdy. It's easy to clean, even if you have dark sauces in it, it just wipes out clean. Also, you can make a lot of food in it. Sometimes I will double my normal portion size and freeze the extra. It is a little heavy, so I tend to keep it on the stove, instead of trying to put it into a cabinet. Yet, despite that, I really love using this. I think it is much better than some of my pots because this feels like it is built to last.

Get it from Made-In Cookware for $199 (comes in three colors).

    7. And a KitchenAid immersion blender, so you can have silky smooth soups by eliminating the need to use a strainer. It has multiple speeds and can cut through even the toughest of food, without you having to use some major elbow grease.

    Britt Ross / BuzzFeed, www.amazon.com

"I own the blue immersion blender, and as someone who's just 5 feet tall and has practically zero upper body strength, I find that it's been a total game-changer. Now, whenever I want a smooth sauce or silky soup, all I have to do is stick this bad boy into the pot, press a button, and presto! No more having to muster up all my strength to lift a heavy pot, and then pour hot liquid from it into a blender (I mean, disaster waiting to happen). Oh, and it's SO easy to clean, plus the pretty blue hue makes me happy every time I use it!"  —Brittany Ross

Get it from Amazon for $79.99+ (available in 10 colors and three styles).

    8. A reliable mug warmer for anyone who's like me and ALWAYS forgets to drink their coffee before it gets cold.

Writer's coffee mug sitting on the warmer
Writer's desk with coffee mug sitting on top of the warmer
    Tasia Bass / Buzzfeed

Look, my worst habit is putting down my coffee and forgetting about it for hours. So it gets cold and unappetizing. But this has helped me keep it warm and drinkable. It has three temperatures, and to be honest, medium keeps it perfectly hot but not too hot that you can't drink it. It also has an auto shut-off, that kicks in after four hours. It's a smart buy that really helps cut down on wasting your drink.

Get it from Amazon for $23.29+ (comes in eight colors and styles).

    9. A collection of hearty meat pies or scones that will be perfect to have with a cup of tea. Or those days when you rather stay wrapped up in your blanket instead of making something to eat.

"Megan Ackroyd (the third-generation owner) and Alan Ackroyd (the second-generation owner) keep this family-run bakery full of traditional Scottish foods made with delicious, homemade flavors. I'm pretty sure by this point I've personally tried almost everything their site offers and I've gotta say...if you haven't, you're missing out! This small biz is located in Redford, Michigan."  —Mal Mower

A reviewer photo of the crockpot sitting on the counter with the lid attached
A model scooping meatballs out of the crockpot

"Since both of my parents worked, I grew up understanding the almighty power of the slow cooker. So much so, that this very slow cooker is one of the first things I bought for my own 'adult' kitchen. Being able to program how long it cooks and have it bump to the warming setting automatically is great, especially when you plan to be out of the house all day. Then you just get to walk in to the smell of a finished dinner. It's great for making a million different things (a roast, pulled pork, mulled wine — the list is endless), but it really shines as a soup machine. The low-and-slow cook times really let all the flavors soak into the broth, and you can make a ton at once!" —Danielle Healy

Get it from Amazon for $67.29.

    11. And some slow cooker liners for easy clean up, because sometimes doing the dishes is too much work.

    12. A budget-friendly Mr. Coffee drip coffee pot for those who need a pot or two to help them make it through the day. It is highly durable and will survive not only this fall, but many falls to come.

the writer with a speech bubble saying
    Rachel Dunkel / BuzzFeed

"I've had this guy for over six years, and it quickly brews up cup after steaming cup of coffee just as well as day one. If you've somehow never made drip coffee before, listen, it's really easy. Just pop in a filter, fill it with coffee, fill the machine with water, and flip the switch. Boom! You've got java. This machine has also survived many, many moves while packed in pretty precarious boxes, so I can say for certain it's durable." —Rachel Dunkel

Get it from Amazon for $32.99.

    13. An 8-in-1 spiralizer that'll let you turn veggies into amazing zoodles. And if that's not enough for you, this handy device is also a grater, juicer, and more for all those fall recipes!

Just swap out the inserts to go from one function to another!

"I recently purchased this because it was my cheapest option for making zoodles, and also because my apartment is the size of a shoebox and there was no room for anything bigger. I LOVE how easy it is to swap out the caps to do other things, too — I've started grating my own cheeses and feel very fancy. But mostly I just love that it's very safe to use (it comes with a finger guard!), super easy to figure out, very compact, and even has measurements on the inside of the cup if you're ever portioning things out for a recipe." —Emma Lord

Get it from Amazon for $15.98 (also available in four- and six-in-one styles).

    14. A box of sleep tea, for those nights where you scared yourself right before bed by watching a new horror movie. We totally get it, but you have work in the morning and need to be well rested.

    A reviewer's tea
    Buzzfeed / Christine Forbes

"This tea contains nepetalactone, a compound that calms the nervous system. I haven't met many teas that I didn't like, but this one is very tasty. I love that it's not too bitter and doesn't necessarily need to be sweetened. Although I've never sipped this while trying to sleep, I enjoy drinking it when I'm tense. It's perfect for days that I'm annoyed and ready to, 'start a fight,' a la P!nk. My roommates love this too, the tea will probably not last long in this house." —Christine Forbes

Get it from Amazon for $20.

    15. Nespresso machine that'll allow you to make expressos in your own home with a press of a button.

    Nespresso in action
Coffee drink made from the Nespresso

"I finally caved and bought myself a Nespresso for Christmas after only ever using a Keurig, and let me tell you... it was so worth it. I buy the Nespresso decaf pods and they've all tasted SO amazing. They have different sizes and each pod tells you the amount of coffee it brews. The machine will just *know* which size you put in and pour that amount! Also, it heats up unbelievably fast. I will turn on the machine, press the button to brew and in a matter of a few seconds it's brewing the hottest espresso. I'm also totally obsessed with the Aeroccino! You can make regular hot foam for your lattés and ~also~ COLD FOAM. I make iced lattés with vanilla cold foam every day and it's been such a great purchase for me." —Stephanie Hope

Get it from Amazon for $195.99.

    16. A set of Our Place ovenware, that'll have you ready to host Thanksgiving this year.

    Bakeware
Oven pan with food in it
    Our Place

I am really glad I ended up getting this set, as it's very nice and high quality. As someone who finally accepted that she is an adult and has to stop shopping for dishes out of my mom's house, I have been putting in the effort to buy things I know will last. Especially since I make a lot of very saucy things that stain dishes all the time.  So far these has been a breeze to clean (even when I am lazy and let the dish sit in the sink overnight) and everything wipes out easily. It is a little bit more expensive but the fact that haven't been able to accidentally scorch the bottom of these yet, make them well worth the price. Definitely going to use them for the holidays during family dinners, so I can trick my family into thinking I am more together than I actually am.

Get the set from Our Place for $195 (available in six colors).

    17. A pack of booootiful pumpkin spice cheesecake flavored macarons that are almost too spooktacular to eat. Almost.

Izzy Macarons is a woman-owned small business in Jersey City, NJ. She makes homemade macarons that ship nationwide.

I originally bought the Winnie the Pooh set for a friend who never had macarons before and she loved them! After she kept raving about them, I ended up going back and buying a 12-pack of the sloth ones for myself. As a huge macaron lover, these were amazing. So far i've had 3 flavors from her: raspberry, salted caramel, and pistachio. All of them for incredibly delicate and delicious. I think what great about these is that they are always such fun shapes, that will definitely put a smile on anyone's face.

Get a box of 6 from Izzy Macarons on Etsy for $19.80+ (available in three sizes).

"Don't worry about it teetering over the edge of your counter when you set it to high speeds — it may be pricey, but as a former professional baker, I can confidently say nothing compares when it comes to sheer sturdiness. If you're serious about taking your pastry skills to new heights, I highly recommend having one of these in your arsenal. In addition to whisk and paddle attachments, it comes with a dough hook for all of you bread lovers out there (I used it for kneading the dough for the cinnamon rolls pictured above!), as well as a pouring shield, which keeps flour from getting all over your counter (and you!)." —Brittany Ross

Get it from Amazon for $349.95+ (available in 20 colors).

    19. A cute Barbie mug that'll brighten up anyone's day, whether they are drinking coffee out of it before work or sipping hot cocoa while carving pumpkins.

    Model holding Barbie themed mug
    Amazon

"I'm a sucker for all things Barbie, so this basically flung itself directly into my cart and showed up at my doorstep in two days without me even realizing it. I was at first disappointed that the mug was not exactly 20 oz as the descriptions states (I'd say it's closer to 16 oz), but it was so gorgeous I quickly got over it. It's such a good, cozy size and the cute design always brightens up my excessive amount of coffee breaks." —Daniel Boan

Get it from Amazon for $9.99.

"I've had my Lodge skillet for maybe seven years now, and I love it just as much today as the first day I got it. Nothing — and I mean NOTHING — is better when it comes to achieving the perfect golden brown pancake, crackly skinned fish, and crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside baked pasta (see photo above!). Contrary to popular belief, it's incredibly easy to care for, and as long as you don't let it rust it'll last you FOR-EV-ER. "I bought this for my BF a year or two ago and honestly, I think I'm the third wheel now. He uses it every morning and it's like a religious experience. He weighs his beans, pours them in, grinds, and still oohs and awws over his coffee. He is the literal human embodiment of those T-shirts that say 'Don't talk to me before I've had my morning coffee!' so I don't take his review lightly." —Chelsea Stuart

Golden Triangle Coffee is a small business based in Ohio. They offer a selection of fair trade coffee.

For the last couple of years one of my main goals was to make sure I switched to only ethical, fair-trade coffee companies. So I was really lucky when I came across this brand's owner, Dan McLaughlin, on TikTok. I first bought his seasonal holiday blend last December and it was good. Even my mother, who doesn't really like coffee, liked it when I brought it over during the holidays. I'm currently drinking the Baxter Blend, which has this slight nutty flavor that's balanced out with a soft chocolate taste. Trust me when I say it is absolutely amazing with pecan pie and cinnamon rolls. I plan to make definitely gonna make monkey bread soon to have with it. The bags are resealable and you can request them to ground the beans for you. It also delivers extremely fast. This would make a great gift for the coffee lover in your life (or yourself).
