Planning an event can quickly become an overwhelming task especially when trying to stick with a predetermined budget. Today I will be revealing a simple 3-step guide to planning a successful party.
1. Selecting the Venue.
The rule of thumb when it comes to deciding where to hold the event is to first consider your budget. No more than 35% of your total budget should be applied to the venue. If you are someone who tends to gravitate towards the more luxurious settings and don’t want to shift away from that- Don’t worry, you can still have a beautiful Lavish event! All you have to do is cut the guest list- I mean do you really need to have your boss’s second cousin who you’ve never met at your birthday? No.
The trick is to have a smaller intimate setting and spend more of the budget on decorations and creating your vision over the mediocre massive hall, which will look, empty and lifeless because you have spent all your budget on having everyone and their mother attend your event.
2. Food and Bar Service
As much as you may not care about the food, that is the one thing guests tend to remember the most. Rule of thumb: apply 35% of budget to this category. You will thank me. Since you have cut down on your guest list you will likely not even need full amount. Now for the fun part…
3. Décor
As important as the first 2 steps are, this is something that will be seen in pictures and videos for years to come. Again, don’t worry 30% is plenty to work with!
