10. Abby Scuito

Pauley Perrette plays Abby Sciuto on NCIS. Abby is quite possibly the coolest goth character on TV today. She works with forensic evidence to solve crimes. So you know she's smart as a whip. Plus she's always happy. She sleeps in a coffin and collects horror merchandise. She loves her work and she loves herself. Isn't Abby who we're all striving to be.

9. Nancy, The Craft

Any of the girls from The Craft could make this list. However, Nancy's wicked looks and homicidal tendencies make her stand out from the pack. She was the ringleader. She introduced the girls to witchcraft. Then her insane attraction to the darkside took over. I think a lot of us were Nancy in high school. Maybe we didn't try to kill anyone with our witch powers, but we were hurting. Nancy's character speaks to that. Also, can we agree that she had a killer fashion sense?

8. Amy Lee

In the early 2000s, the radio was stuck on crap pop like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. One band would shatter that mold. That band was Evanescence fronted by siren, Amy Lee. She was an unconventional beauty with pale skin, long black locks, and sad eyes. Amy was an inspiration for girls who related to the darkness. Songs like My Immortal and Bring me to Life proved that goth didn't die with the 90s.

7. Vampira

Elvira may be more popular, but I personally prefer Vampira. In her pre Vampira days, she worked as a burlesque dancer with Lili St. Cyr. She also worked for Mae West. West was rumored to have fired Vampira, because she felt threatened by her. Then she became the first TV horror host. Her favorite gags included encouraging her fans to ask for epitaphs rather than autographs, and making ghoulish puns. After her show was cancelled she ended up playing a role in Ed Wood's Plan 9 From Outer Space. Her striking features are still revered by goths everywhere.

6. Helena Bonham Carter

Helena achieved fame playing "English Rose" characters in period romances. She began to explore new types of roles with films like Fight Club. Then she met Tim Burton, and two weirdos fell in love. From then on, HBC was Burton's leading lady playing oddball characters like Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd. Then of course there's her role as nasty witch, Bellatrix, in the Harry Potter franchise. She's truly staked her claim to the "Quirky Goth Girl" label. Fans can't help but gush over Helena's mismatched shoes, Vivienne Westwood dresses, and untamed curls. Even though she and Burton are splitsville, don't expect her to disappear any time soon.

5. Emilie Autumn

Emilie Autumn began her career as a classically trained violin player and opera singer. She has made a name for herself by crafting a style of music that she calls "Victorian Industrial". Her albums are influenced by her personal experiences with mental illness. Her live shows blend together aspects of theatre, burlesque, and good old rock and roll. Songs like Opheliac and Fight Like a Girl have become anthems for crazy girls everywhere.

4. Dita Von Teese

This beautiful, articulate woman has single handedly managed to keep burlesque relevant. Her love of costumes extends outside of her shows. She's a trained costume designer with her own lingerie line. Her staple look includes raven hair, red lipstick, and tight corsets. She was once married to Marilyn Manson, but she went her own way when Manson took up heavy partying and a mistress. I say Dita's better off.

3. Siouxsie Sioux

Back in the day, every self respecting goth girl wanted to be Siouxsie Sioux. With her Egyptian inspired eye makeup and spiky black mane, she was certainly a rare beauty. Then of course there's that wild voice. I can't help but try and imitate as I scream out Spellbound while walking on the treadmill. Today she's looking as good as ever, and is currently working on some new projects.

2. Lydia Deetz

Lydia rocked apathy and a hat like no one else. She managed to make under eye circles look pretty, and her bangs were always gelled to perfection. She was bffs with a couple of ghosts. Best of all, she did all of this while thwarting advances from an undead pervert.

Wednesday Addams is just a small girl with a warped mind and a deadpan sense of humor. Wednesday is the best, because she doesn't take shit from anyone. She knows she's weird and she likes it that way. You don't want to be her friend? Fine, she's got a bunch of wacky relatives to play with. She has exactly one look, and she wears it well. Her collared black dress and pigtails is a style that every goth girl has tried to recreate at least once.
