In an exclusive interview with Rae Lucas at Talent Monthly Magazine, John Schneider talks about the damage to his studio from the recent flooding in Louisiana.

Flooding has done major damage to John Schneider Studios, an independent film studio, located along the Tickfaw River in Holden, Louisiana. The owner of the property is actor, writer and director John Schneider. He was away due to work commitments at the time the flooding took place, but returned shortly after. "It was a helpless feeling," Schneider explains. "I'm hundreds of miles from home, and we're seeing photos of the flood waters rising. Everything we've worked so hard to acquire was filling with water."

Almost three years ago, Schneider discovered the 58 acres, once known as Camp Singing Waters, while looking for locations to shoot his movie Smothered. He was impressed by the diversity of the land. "I bought the place because I realized while filming there, that it was filmmaker's paradise. You've got everything you need to shoot in one place; a swamp, lake, bamboo forest, open fields… Luckily those things are still here."

Since Smothered, seven films have been shot at the studio, including three that John wrote and directed. His producing partner on these projects is Alicia Allain. She also helps him run the studio. "We've made such great strides in developing this property," Alicia says. "The flood is a set back, but we're going to continue with John's vision of what this place can become."

Schneider has a team at the studio known as the PseuperKrew. The team members immediately got together, and decided to do something. They set up a GoFundMe page, and so far the campaign has raised over 8,000 dollars. The studio plans to create a plaque that will include all the names of the contributors. "There was no flood insurance, so what the PseuperKrew is doing, is very much appreciated. I thank them, and we thank the people who are contributing. John Schneider Studios will move forward."
