A Really Brave Teddy Bear Beat Felix Baumgartner’s World Record

This bear is really good at sky diving.

This is a very brave bear called Babbage.

This week, he went sky diving.

Babbage fell from 39,000m, which meant that he beat Felix Baumgartner’s world record by 31m.

But Babbage is only a bear, so he needed some help. He was guided by a weather balloon and then released by a Raspberry Pi computer which was operated by high-altitude balloonist David Akerman.

Babbage's flight was recorded by a camera which was attached to his shoulder.

"The launch and both recoveries were textbook," Mr Akerman told the Independent.
