12 Times I Got My Life During The Beyonce And Jay Z: On The Run HBO Special

Saturday I joined the millions of viewers who watched HBO's 'On The Run Tour' special despite having attended the concert this Summer. Don't judge us though, it takes more than one viewing to take in all of Beyonce's greatness. Here are some of my favorite moments from the telecast.

1. When Beyonce let her inner thug shine.

Beyonce is the queen of composure (among other things) and the humble brag, so I'm thrilled every time she gives us a peak she gives us of 3rd Ward Yonce.

2. When HBO gave us Beyonce in slow-mo

I don't know about you but sometimes I'm so overwhelmed by Queen Bey's greatness that everything goes into slow-motion, I call it the Beyonce Effect. I thank Parkwood Entertainment and HBO for understanding this common side-effect and slowing down moments of the concert when epic levels surpassed human understanding.

3. ONIKAAAAAA

Before I even get into the greatness that was the ***Flawless Remix performance, can we just talk about the fact that Bey called Nicki Minaj by her government name. I mean — beyond! Anyway back to the performance, Beyhivers and Barbies everywhere self-combusted as these two powerhouses strutted on stage in matching costumes and rapped about their greatness. No one stage should house all that power, thank you ladies for making our dreams come true.

4. When they shared videos of Princess Blue Ivy

All of the crisp family footage of the Carter's in their natural habitat truly made my heart burst. I felt like I was invited over for dinner and I loved every moment of it.

5. Everytime they showed PDA

Every kiss was like personal thank you to all the Beylivers who stayed steadfast and never fell for the divorce rumors.

6. The Resentment Performance

Some call Resentment a song, I like to call it a sermon. I've witnessed several people catch the Holy Spirit during Bey's performance of this song and this HBO special was no difference. She had no right to put us through church like that on a Saturday night. I literally shouted "how dare you!" at my television.

7. When they celebrated a job well done.

We all know how blessed and favored we were to witness a show as epic as the On The Run Tour, so it was nice to see these two perfectionist celebrate the fruit of their labor. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us!
