Recently, Twitter user Alexsa Sanchez Aguilar tweeted a text she received from an ex of hers, and — here's the kicker — he sent it RIGHT BEFORE HIS WEDDING DAY.
It went viral pretty quickly, and elicited a LOT of mixed reactions from people — everything from those praising the ex's maturity...
...to those questioning his intentions by sending it right before his wedding day:
"At first, I didn’t know what to say," Aguilar told BuzzFeed, when asked about her take on the whole thing. "I started crying when I read the text — it warmed my heart that I helped him be a better version of himself."
As for the negative reactions, Aguilar said the texts weren't weird given that she and her ex had helped each other through an extremely difficult time: "We lost a best friend to suicide, and we helped each other heal. I feel like no matter what happens, he and I will forever have respect towards each other."
And the reason she shared the texts on Twitter? "I wanted to show that just because things don't work out with someone, that doesn't mean you should have hate towards them," she said. "Regardless of everything, you were meant to be a part of that person's life, and them, yours."
THE👏EMOTIONAL👏MATURITY 👏.
