The term "vintage" refers to an item that is at least 20 years old or more. So, yes folks you could create a radical wedding with a parachute, Hammer pants, checkerboard, bell-bottoms ambiance! Wait, I am like totally combining the wrong decades. Okay, I digress. When we imagine vintage weddings we are most likely thinking 1970s or earlier. Here are ten great ways to combine different more "weddingish" decades in an extraordinary way. The result will be a romantic, days gone by atmosphere that will have your guests showering you with compliments.
Whether you are having a full sit-down dinner, buffet, or hors d'oeuvres the effect will be stunning. Using Depression glass in different colors creates a more subdued eclectic version of the same idea. If you have time you can start scouring flea markets, thrift stores and yard sales. Mismatched china and glass can also be found on Etsy and Ebay or rented. Find great vintage dishes, vases & candlesticks at The Dusty Wing Vintage and Putnam & Speedwell

There are several ways to incorporate the "for your tears of joy" idea into your wedding. If you're having an outdoor wedding, my favorite is this vintage hanky version. Throw a "bouquet party" instead of bachelorette party. A spread of yummy finger foods, flowers, a few supplies & wine make for a great alternative to the traditional blowout. Try sourcing in-season flowers from local growers. If you are lucky enough to possess a green thumb, grow some yourself (plan ahead and have a back-up flower source). You can also supplement with "big box store" flowers or purchase paper paper flowers from Flower Decoration. Great vintage ribbon & other fab finds can be found at Blackbird Antiques & Zoes Olde Shoppe
